Where Community and Recreation Come Together
For an impressive 50 years, the CARA - Capital Area Recreation Association has been at the very heart of outdoor sports and recreation in the vibrant city of Augusta. What began as a modest grassroots effort featuring just one Little League and one Farm League field has remarkably grown into a thriving local recreation facility that stretches nearly a mile long. Unlike many recreation areas that may rely on paid staff, CARA stands out as it is entirely volunteer-run—each aspect of the facility has been built, expanded, and meticulously maintained through the tireless efforts and unwavering commitment of local citizens, dedicated businesses, and skilled contractors who share a passion for community engagement.
This extraordinary dedication has transformed CARA into more than just a sports complex; it has become a powerful symbol of what a community can accomplish when they come together for a common purpose. We invite you to visit one of our sports fields today to witness firsthand the spirit of unity and collaboration that underpins our mission and to see what we’re all about in this remarkable gathering place for athletes of all ages.
Dogs are welcome on the roads, but we kindly ask that you keep them off the fields. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
